100th Innovative School Project Launch – Auchenharvie & Greenwood Academy

On Friday we attended Auchenharvie Academy to celebrate our 100th school Innovative Project Launch!

DYW Ayrshire are proud to have funded and supported over 100 projects in secondary schools across Ayrshire. These projects allow us to bridge the gap between education and the world of work by helping young people gain transferable skills in sectors including construction, horticulture and beauty. This gives young people positive pathways and opportunities for their future employment.

We received a fantastic service from pupils working the barista before hearing speeches from DHT John Herd and our CEO, Val Russel. The school played a video showing the work pupils carry out with their projects and allowed us to hear from the pupils themselves about why they enjoy their projects and how this helps them learn. We received a tour to view their construction area and celebrated with a ribbon cutting.
